Tanuki (Raccoon) has always been regarded as a mascot in Japanese tradition. It is also a classic symbol of Shigaraki, it holds an incredible ability and can pray for people.

Painted by Hand

The face and tail of the Tanuki (Raccoon) are hand-painted by a skilled craftsman. The playful and cute images are shown on both the body of the flagon and the cup.

Plain Glazed

The spout of the flagon is glazed with a yellow-green crystal layer, combined with the original color of the pottery clay.

Matte Bottom

The bottom of the cup is unglazed. The frosted texture allows the cup to be steadily placed on the table.
